Pinkalicous

We love reading Pinkalicious books and were excited to go see Pinkalicious the Musical last weekend!
Wearing pink, with her Pinkalicous doll, popcorn in a pink cup, and the pink purse we won as a door prize.

Jumping into Summer

Lately.
(Love Brinley's face in this one!)
  It's been very hot.
We've been trying to stay cool.
We've been eating lots of watermelon.
A few temper tantrums thrown in for good measure.
 And more swimming.

Kindergarten Graduate

My first baby is about to finish Kindergarten. What?! Just a blink ago he was born, my mom visited, I cried when I left her at the airport because I had no idea what I was doing, and now he's six? And about to be in FIRST grade? Wow! He's had a fantastic teacher this year and has improved so much.

Dresser Revamp

I stumbled upon this wooden dresser for $3 at my favorite thrift store and new it would be perfect for Bristol's summer stuff at camp. The kids and I had a great time making it new again and they were actually pretty helpful.
First we pulled off the old contact paper and possibly wallpaper that covered it and removed the knobs.

Orange spray paint became Mama's blank canvas! Top:
Side 1. Song from Annie- best movie ever.
Side 2. Found some ideas online and made it my own.
 Front
New knobs were the most expensive part! And then the screws were too long and I had to get shorter screws. And drill the holes larger to accommodate said screws. Two coats of poly, some felt hot-glued inside each drawer bottom and we're good to go!

Classmate & Teacher Gifts

I saw a cute idea on pinterest for classmate end of year gifts with crazy straws and Kool Aid. Of course I realized I wanted to do this the night before I wanted them to take these to school. I didn't have time to go to town and our tiny town didn't offer much in the way of crazy straws. I found some at the grocery store, but for the same price I got these mini water bottles at Family Dollar for $.50 each.

Kool Aid was $.20 a pack and I had a coupon for 5 free when you buy 10 packets.
We folded the Kool Aid in half and stuck one in each bottle.
 Top back on.
We helped the kids make tags that say: "Have a "kool" summer!"

Teachers also got "kool summer" gifts- the waterbottles with Kool-Aid, chocolates, homemade lip balm, gum and ice pops.
Brayden's teacher got those goodies plus an ice pack, some more chocolates and a notepad with her name on it that I got at GroopDealz. Love that website and check it every day.

Fun in the Sun

We've had some super hot popsicle-weather days lately

A hot air balloon flew over out house one evening and I dragged the kids out of bed to see it!

Love how Brinley is loving on her baby sister in this one!
