Home!

My father-in-law, Buddy, came home from the hospital on Monday and is doing much better! He will keep the trach tube and oxygen until at least the end of the week when he follows up with the doctor. Other than not being able to speak, he can eat whatever he wants (my brother-in-law cooked him steak this week!) and is up and moving around as he normally does. They think it was caused by strep and/or a reaction to some of his medications. We are glad that he is home now and doing well.

Friday

Today has been an interesting day.

The kids and I got sausage biscuits from Hardee's. I asked Brayden several times if he wanted sausage or plain. "Sausage," was the reply. The sausage was promptly rejected because it had something red in it. I told him that was the yummy flavor and he ate it.

My father-in-law, Buddy, was admitted to the ICU for epiglottitis. Gave us all a bit of a scare, but is doing much better this evening. They expect to keep him a few more days until the infection clears up. Today is his and Barbara's 39th wedding anniversary. She said he really needs to plan something nice for next year!

The kids sang the theme song to Jake and the Neverland Pirates with their heads hanging out the windows of the car while waiting in the hospital parking lot.

Brayden had a time out. Several time outs, actually.

We bought a mattress. At Costco. The children were very naughty.

CVS had a one-day coupon at the kiosk for $1 off 2 Cadbury Creme eggs. Yum!

I ran to the grocery store for a few things and was back 17 minutes later. It used to take longer than that just to get to the grocery store!

The house is a mess. Something new for a change, right?

People magazine arrived- yeay for Mommy time. :)

We played outside with sidewalk chalk, drawing mostly turtles and boats.

Brinley actually requested a headband (Dora- did you even need to ask?) and wore it for the majority of the day.

The little ones are tucked in their beds and I'm looking forward to sleeping on our new mattress with my new pillow!

5 weeks

Bristol was not digging the 5 week photo shoot in her room...

Saturday Morning

The kids let us sleep late this morning after everyone piled into our bed. At 7:30 I noticed it was way too quiet downstairs and discovered that Brinley had helped herself to cookies for breakfast while Brayden was headed for Chex Mix. The cookies now reside on a higher shelf! While I made waffles, cereal and grapes they announced that they were hot and proceeded to eat their breakfasts half naked.

Daddy was watching tv and a commercial for the Shake Weight came on. Brayden said "I want to buy one of those so that I can get big and strong like Daddy!"

I love my crazy life and these sweet kids!
