Tea Party

Brinley and I went to our first Tea Party this weekend with friends from MOPS.
Here's a tutorial for easy petit fours:
Buy a frozen pound cake for about $3. Defrost in fridge.
Cut off the brown crumbly parts to make it flat and cut in half to make two long sections (like two pieces of a cake). Then cut each section into cubes about and inch square.
Buy frosting for about $2. Melt in microwave for 15-30 seconds or longer if needed. I melted mine in a glass container, but you could probably use the jar it comes in. Frosting should be runny.
Dip each piece in frosting and use a spoon to help coat all the sides.
Put on a wire rack so the excess frosting can drip down onto a cookie sheet. Decorate as desired.
To add chocolate flair, melt some chocolate chips in a ziplock baggie in the microwave in 30 second intervals.
 Snip a corner and decorate.
