September 11, 2011
The lyrics to the Alan Jackson song "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" say:
"Teaching a class full of innocent children..."
That's where I was on September 11, 2011. I was a junior Foreign Language Education major at Mississippi State, working at Armstrong Middle School in Starkville. I was in a 7th grade English class and an administrator pulled us into the hallway to tell us what had happened. I spent the afternoon glued to the television in tears. Thankful that Kenny's family in New York and our friends in DC (many on Capitol Hill) were safe.

Ten years seems like an eternity ago, but I can remember that day so vividly. We will never forget.
